Daniel Girard has been providing comprehensive wealth management services to successful families, individuals and charitable foundations since the late 1990s. Prior to joining Newport, Dan built and managed a large, successful practice with one of Canada’s big five banks for over 20 years.

A Brantford native, Dan graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Economics degree. He holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation, the coveted Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®)—a designation he received from the Investment Management Consulting Association, in affiliation with The Wharton Business School.

Outside of Newport, Dan is actively involved in his community. He is a member of the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club and is the past chair of the Chamber Corporate Challenge for Children’s Charity. Dan is a regular columnist for Exchange magazine and has had articles published in numerous newspapers and magazines. An avid cyclist, Dan travels the world to tackle the most interesting and challenging cycling itineraries.
