At a young, impressionable age, Amélie remembers her dad reviewing company financial statements with her and explaining why he was making certain investment decisions. With three children in the family, including her handicapped older brother, she recalls many family discussions about financial planning and charting a secure path for the future.

Amélie brings first-hand knowledge and empathy towards the unique personal circumstances that impact long term prosperity. “My mother is a highly educated physician, yet I saw that she didn’t share the same financial acumen that my dad had,” says Amélie. “That highlighted for me the importance of financial literacy to make informed choices.” She went on to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Finance from the University of Ottawa. Amélie is a Chartered Investment Manager and earned her MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Amélie started her career at the Royal Bank of Canada working with retail clients. From there she joined the institutional sales team at NEI Investments, prior to joining Newport in 2018. Her diverse experience working with large institutional investors, independent financial advisors and high-net worth individuals and families from across Canada has given her the agility and expertise to help clients of all levels of investment knowledge, interest and experience better manage their wealth.

In her personal time, a week doesn’t go by that Amélie isn’t sailing on Lake Ontario or running along its shores. She volunteers at her sailing club and is a member of her church’s endowment committee. Amélie’s most precious time is that spent with her husband and young daughter, with whom she shares a love of discovery and travel.
